A Hazard Communication, or HazCom, Program is a written workplace program that explains how hazardous chemicals are identified, labeled, documented, and communicated to employees. It also addresses Safety Data Sheets (SDSs), employee training, and other chemical-hazard procedures.
Employers covered by OSHA’s Hazard Communication Standard generally need a written HazCom Program when employees may be exposed to hazardous chemicals during normal work or a foreseeable emergency.
The standard package includes a customized written Hazard Communication Program for one workplace location and a HazCom training outline. Your program is prepared using the workplace information you provide through our intake process.
Yes. Your program is built around your workplace, operations, hazardous chemicals, SDS access, labeling practices, employee training methods, and other information you provide.
Have your workplace chemical inventory or product list available. You should also be prepared to answer questions about SDS access, chemical labeling, employee training, non-routine tasks, and how HazCom responsibilities are handled at your workplace.
You can still complete the intake. Instead of uploading an existing inventory, you can enter your hazardous chemical product names directly into the form using the product names shown on the corresponding Safety Data Sheets.
The standard package includes a HazCom training outline to help your company conduct its employee training. Live, virtual, or in-person employee training is not included in the $249.99 package.
No document by itself guarantees OSHA compliance. Employers remain responsible for properly implementing and maintaining their HazCom Program, including chemical labeling, SDS access, employee training, and other applicable workplace requirements.
